Lockard, Hummingbirds Get 5-1 Win
|
Starting pitcher Remington Lockard did his part in helping the Sierra Vista Hummingbirds thwart the Hialeah Gales, 5-1. Sierra Vista, now 6-2, is playing great baseball to start the year.
The standout performance belonged to 18-year-old Lockard. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Hummingbirds. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Gales, striking out 8 and scattering 3 hits over 6.1 innings. Lockard is now 2-0 on the season.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Lockard told the Sierra Vista Times.
