Tempe catcher Josiah Johnston added his name to the record books with a 5-hit spree at Peoria Sports Complex, but found his special moment spoiled when the Florence Swordfish took a shootout win, 20-18, over the Impalas.

"I would have much preferred getting only a couple of hits and winning the game," he confessed to reporters afterward. "It's hard to go back into the clubhouse and celebrate a 5-hit game when you also lost."

Impalas manager Aaron Lambert called Johnston's game "a once-in-a-lifetime moment."

"It's a shame the guy can't really enjoy it," the skipper said. "It's also a shame what happened with our pitching, but at least that we can try to fix."

Josiah Johnston singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.

Thus far this year, Johnston has hit .522 with no home runs and 4 RBIs.
