The Gilbert Geckos took on the Ahwatukee Roughnecks at Roughnecks Ballpark.

Thanks in large part to shortstop George Calzada, the Gilbert Geckos beat the Ahwatukee Roughnecks, 6-4. Calzada was 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Getting the save was Russ Duggins, his 5th.

Jordan Bednar had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh for Gilbert. With the bases loaded and the Geckos leading 5-4, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bednar told the Gilbert Herald.

The third-place Geckos bumped their record to 10-7.
