Slide Continues for Impalas
|
The Scottsdale Salamanders nipped the Tempe Impalas, 7-6, at Hohokam Park. Scottsdale pitcher Thomas Macias, in particular, starred. Macias picked up the win for Scottsdale, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Kieran Lackey closed it out for his 4th save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Scottsdale third baseman J.J. Brodzik had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Brodzik stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Scottsdale. For the game, he went 1-4.
"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Aidan McCulloch.
The misery never ends for the Impalas, who've lost 16 in a row.
