Riding the 3-hit performance of the 24-year old third baseman Dave Jacinto, the Somerset Patriots stopped the Yonkers Dark Knights, 13-2, in 9 innings. Evarado Castillo got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 4.2 innings. The loss drops Yonkers to 5-20.

Carmine Williams had a big 3-run home run for the Patriots in the bottom of the third inning. With Somerset leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Will Rowland and swatted a home run to left. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Patriots ahead, 6-0.

"They took it to us," said Yonkers manager Vince Hendrix.
