Roughnecks Beat Hogs, 6-3
|
The Ahwatukee Roughnecks racked up a win at Hammond Stadium, bumping off the Gainesville Hogs, 6-3. Whitfield Daniels, who started for Ahwatukee, pitched effectively for his team. Solomon Casarez was credited with the save for Ahwatukee, his 1st of the season. The win takes Ahwatukee to 7-5.
The Roughnecks got a big at-bat from first baseman Luke Talley. For the game, Talley was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Ahwatukee a 1-0 lead.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Talley.
