Rumble Ponies Continue Skid, Thanks to Russ, Crabs

Providence beat Binghamton in a rain-soaked ballgame.
A good performance from first baseman Oscar Russ helped the Providence Crabs defeat the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 7-4. Russ went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Crabs. William Santos picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-1.
With Providence leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Russ hit a fastball from Remy Boadu for a 2-run double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Crabs ahead, 3-0.
"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Russ, "I can't complain."
The loss drops Binghamton to 13-13.
