Thrilling Victory Pushes Sun Dogs Win Streak to 5
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Allan Mullins, the Kissimmee Kumquats lost to the Miramar Sun Dogs, 5-4. Mullins was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Miramar reliever Tyrell Pearce picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Amaury Domingues shouldered the loss. Miramar, now 9-5, has played well in the early going.
Miramar used the timely hitting of Quillin Washington to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sun Dogs on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Miramar manager Mike Jefferson.
