Crabs Cut Down Bighorns, 5-2
|
Providence and Lincoln duked it out and the Crabs came out victorious.
Providence Crabs starter René Heredia was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Lincoln Bighorns, 5-2. In 5.2 innings, Heredia surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs.
Providence used a well-timed hit by Noah Levy to capture the win. The second baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crabs ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Levy said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Providence, now 16-10, has played well in the early going.
