The Flagstaff Blue Devils faced a tough opponent in Oviedo pitcher Henry Matthew, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick by a final score of 5-4. Matthew went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Flagstaff reliever Heath Payne picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mohamed Bruno shouldered the loss. The loss drops the Catch to 8-7.

Yosiah Suárez found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the ninth. Facing Oviedo hurler Mohamed Bruno, the 19-year-old center fielder hit a 2-run single. His 11th hit of the season put the Blue Devils on top, 5-4.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Suárez told a Flagstaff Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
