Kumquats Thrill Fans with 6-5 Win
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Jake Guerrero, the Kissimmee Kumquats defeated the Mesa Saguaros, 6-5. Guerrero was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Kumquats. The 4th-place Kumquats now have a win-loss record of 8-7.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Kissimmee second baseman Aidan Moore, facing Andrew Vernon, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Kumquats the 6-5 win.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Moore said in his postgame press conference.
