The Yuma Gnomes topped the Oviedo Catch, 4-1, in Arizona Rookie League action at Tempe Diablo Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Yuma pitcher and Montreal, Canada, native Jimmy Robichaud. Robichaud got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Robichaud allowed 1 run. The 6th-place Gnomes have a record of 6-9.

Sheldon Bambridge made an early impact for Yuma when he stroked his 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which came with one out in the bottom of the third, put the Gnomes on top, 2-0.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Bambridge after the game.
