Gauchos Claim Late Win
|
The Glendale Gauchos picked up a win at Maryvale Baseball Park, taking down the Kingman Torts, 4-2. Starting pitcher Paul Hazen was a big reason why. Blake Miller, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Victorino Diaz recorded the save for Glendale, his 5th of the season.
Ethan Totten hit a grand slam home run off John Sakakihara in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Gauchos ahead, 4-2. In addition to the homer, Totten had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Totten.
The loss makes Kingman 13-19.
