De Gama Goes Long 3 Times Saturday, May 11th , 2052 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Roman De Gama did today at NBT Bank Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 13-7. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," De Gama said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Round Rock Express second baseman blistered the Winnipeg Goldeyes for 5 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Winnipeg manager Tyler Weatherwax said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Roman De Gama singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Maurice Assou in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Oscar Jessup in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jeremy Richardson in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th. For the year De Gama is batting .362 with 17 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 9 times and driven in 19. |
