Klise, Silva Suspended for Fracas Saturday, May 25th , 2052 Yesterday at Wranglers Ballpark Elijah Klise and Nelson Silva got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Oklahoma City Wranglers and Tacoma Rainiers. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Klise will have to sit out 4 while Silva would be given a 9-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the season Klise has produced 47 hits in 171 at-bats for a .275 average with 4 home runs and gotten on base at a .347 clip. Silva's record this year is 0-and-1 with no saves and a 2.08 ERA. He has given up 16 hits in 13 innings with 16 strikeouts. |
