3-HR Day for Fountain Sunday, June 2nd , 2052 It was a good day for the Pawtucket Red Sox and an exceptional one for Jeremy Fountain. The 27-year-old left fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Red Sox beat the Orlando Wizards 14-5 at Orlando Grounds. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Fountain said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Jeremy Fountain hit a two-run home run off Ted Abreu in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Ted Abreu in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Willy Lindsey in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Posting a .215 batting average to date, Fountain has 8 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
