Zimmerman's 21-Game Hit Streak Ends Monday, July 10th , 2056 After 21 games, D.J. Zimmerman had his hitting streak ended abruptly by the San Antonio Missions at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The Montgomery Biscuits first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt. Despite the tough day at the plate, Zimmerman seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Biscuits beating the Missions, 6-5. "It was good while it lasted," Zimmerman said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory." Zimmerman is hitting .293 for the season with 15 home runs, 50 RBIs and 62 runs scored. He has 89 hits in 304 at-bats and played in 88 games. |
