Jumbo Shrimp Hurler Named SL's #1 Starter Saturday, July 1st , 2051 Declan Carpenter of Jacksonville excelled on the mound in June with a 4-0 record and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Southern League. Carpenter restricted opposing batters to 14 base hits and a .135 batting average. He rang up 35 strikeouts in 30.2 innings of work, surrendered 4 walks, and fashioned a 0.59 ERA.
