Sanchez's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Thursday, July 6th , 2051 Jumbo Shrimp third baseman Sherman Sanchez has extended his hitting streak to 20 games. He went 4-for-5 in today's game against the Corpus Christi Hooks. Jacksonville won the ballgame 12-5. "Got a hit and a win," he said later. "OK, I'll take it." Sherman Sanchez hit a solo-shot off Israel Haraway in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. This season Sanchez has hit at a .255 clip with 37 RBIs, 6 home runs and 38 runs scored. He has played in 79 games. |
