Sanchez's 21-Game Hit Streak Ends Saturday, July 8th , 2051 The Hooks stopped Sherman Sanchez's 21-game hitting streak today at Whataburger Field, but they couldn't stop the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, falling by the score of 4-2. Sanchez didn't get a hit for the first time in weeks, finishing 0-for-2. "It's just as well," Jumbo Shrimp manager Ray Willis said. "We couldn't spend the whole season going out of our way not to jinx him." This season Sanchez is hitting .253 with 80 hits, 6 home runs, 37 RBIs, scored 38 runs and played in 81 games. |
