Parlett Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Engineers
Monday, July 10th , 2051
Benedict Parlett went on an explosive hitting spree against the Shreveport Engineers at Engineers Ballpark today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Arkansas Travelers to the 5-2 win.
The left fielder finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 5 RBI.
"It was just one of those days," Parlett said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball."
Shreveport skipper Dustin Booth said Parlett was "locked-in."
"We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him."
Benedict Parlett grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Logan Lepak in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Logan Lepak in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off T.J. Picchione in the 9th.
Thus far this year Parlett is batting .254 with 8 home runs, 36 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
