Connecticut Moves on to Regional Championship Series Thursday, October 1st , 2048 Merlin Weichert wore out opposing pitchers en route to being named Divisional Series MVP. The star's Connecticut Tigers defeated the Hamilton Red Wings by a series score of 4-2 to advance to the Regional Championship Series. Connecticut won the final game by a 9-3 count in front of a raucous crowd at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Weichert hit .385 with a .484 on-base percentage in the series, while also adding 0 home runs, driving in 8 RBI and scoring 6 runs.
