Great Stroke: Walker Gets 5 Hits
Friday, August 4th , 2051
After a 5-hit effort to lead Atlantic City's 19-3 victory over the Connecticut Tigers, center fielder Jonah Walker told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Short Season A-level is really something special."

The 21-year-old player earned his accolades today at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Tigers.

"His swing is getting there," said Jokers skipper Ed Cruz, who spoke glowingly of Walker after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Jonah did that to perfection today."

Jonah Walker singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In 40 games this season Walker has compiled a .284 batting average with 44 hits and 3 home runs. He has also scored 24 times and knocked in 23 runs.
