Black Diamonds Blank Stampede, Jackson Winner Wednesday, July 27th , 2050 It wasn't easy but the Lethbridge Black Diamonds made it look that way. Starter K.J. Jackson shut out the Medicine Hat Stampede despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Lethbridge Black Diamonds cruised to victory, 1-0. Jackson allowed only 5 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This season, Jackson has fashioned a 3-1 mark and 2.91 ERA in 46.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .207 against him and he has logged 45 strikeouts. View Boxscore |
