Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Saturday, July 22nd , 2034 If there wasn't a history between Nathan Spence of Sanibel and Clint Irby of Gainesville, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Spence said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." This season Spence is batting .125 with 10 hits and no home runs. He has scored 5 times and has 6 runs batted in. This season Irby has no wins and no losses and a 5.57 ERA. |
