Hurricanes Magdaleno Smacks 5 Hits Thursday, August 15th , 2030 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. D.J. Magdaleno of the Daytona Beach Hurricanes had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 17-13 win over the Cape Coral Hammerheads at Joker Marchant Stadium. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 18-year-old right fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." D.J. Magdaleno hit a two-run home run off Ben Falgout in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jeff Bise in the 7th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and walked in the 9th. This year Magdaleno is hitting .303 with 5 home runs and 32 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .341 clip and scored 17 runs. View Boxscore |
