Oviedo Sweeps into the League Championship Series Monday, September 5th , 2039 It's a sweet sweep for the Oviedo Catch and they have won the Wild Card Series. The Fort Lauderdale Pirates were not able to keep pace with the Catch and dropped the series in short order, losing 5-2 in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Fort Lauderdale manager Kyle Soltys. It's now on to the League Championship Series for Oviedo after their 3-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was catcher Chuck Cubero, who was named MVP. For the series, Cubero hit .300 with a .417 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Oviedo Catch don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cape Coral Hammerheads - Boca Raton Buccaneers series. Boca Raton leads the series 2 games to 1.
