Bears Earn 6-2 Win Against Bisons
|
The Newark Bears got a strong performance from pitcher Gabriel Rister, who stymied the Buffalo offense en route to a win, 6-2, at Valiants Ballpark. The winner in relief was Jared Devereaux. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Newark is now 2-2.
Newark got a clutch hit from David Hogan. The catcher socked a grand slam home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was game-ender.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Bears manager Shark McGee.
