Un-four-gettable: Baranda Hits for Cycle
Saturday, June 15th , 2052
It was a quite a day for Maiker Baranda at Coca-Cola Park.
He hit for the cycle, belting out every kind of hit there is -- a single, double, triple and home run. The Wilkes-Barre third baseman accomplished the rare feat during his team's 7-2 victory over the Pawtucket Red Sox.
"I never even thought about hitting for the cycle and what do you know, I did it," he told BNN reporters at the postgame press conference. "The cycle really doesn't matter to me, it's the win that's important."
Baranda went 4-for-5 in the game with 3 RBI and 1 run scored.
Maiker Baranda flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Jake Douglas in the 8th.
For the year Baranda is batting .347 with 6 home runs.
