Gantenbein Torches Engineers for 5 Hits Sunday, June 11th , 2056 Montgomery right fielder Simon Gantenbein had a fantastic day at the plate at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a win, 14-4. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Gantenbein said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Engineers. "No offense meant to Shreveport, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium." After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Gantenbein spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Gantenbein said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Simon Gantenbein singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
